Round Willow Baskets - Two days - 12th & 13th March 2026

2 Day Course

Time: 10 am - 4.30 pm

Venue: The Studio, Hurst Barns, Hurst Lane, Privett, Alton, Hampshire GU34 3PLG

This is a course suitable for beginners but also for those wanting to develop and practice existing skills.

On this two-day course, you will progress through the process of making a round-based willow basket.  Choose from either a single-wrapped handle or integrated finger handles.

With a relaxed atmosphere and creative companionship being welcomed, you will get tuition to suit your skills allowing you to produce a beautiful basket with many practical uses. Weaving techniques will include waling, French and English randing and we will be using buff and brown willows. 

Snacks and drinks will be provided throughout the weekend.

  • This is a course suitable for beginners but also for those wanting to develop existing skills.

  • Please bring sharp secateurs if you have them and wear old clothes.

    Bring a packed lunch and we will provide drinks and cakes throughout the day.

  • Minimum of 4 students per course, should there be insufficient numbers the course will be cancelled 3 weeks in advance & students notified via email.
