Berry Baskets at The Privett Centre | September 24th 2026 |

1 day course: 9.30am - 4.30pm

Venue: The Privett Centre, School House, Church Road, Privett, GU34 3PE


This one day workshop focuses on an elegant, simple, berry picking basket. Our location will be the fabulous Privett Centre and we will be treated to a delicious lunch by Amanda at Sage and Season. Basket making luxury!

This style of basket is perfect for harvesting small fruit, herbs, gathering eggs or nuts. During the day you will learn how to make a round base, stake up the sides, weave the sides ending with a simple trach border. The basket is then finished with a simple pegged rod handle.

Mollie will guide you through the process, giving plenty of tips and knowledge as you weave.

Sage and Season will be your fabulous host for the day providing refreshments and snacks along with a delicious, seasonal two course lunch featuring much hand grown produce from Amanda’s Dad’s allotment.

Arrive at 9.30am to join us for coffee and something sweet, teaching will commence shortly after and conclude at 4.30pm.

  • No previous skills are necessary, although some manual dexterity and patience will be needed.

  • Please bring sharp secateurs if you have them and feel free to dress for the season!

  • Maximum of 15 people per workshop, should there be insufficient numbers the course will be cancelled 3 weeks in advance & students notified via email.
