Guided by Nick McMillen you will create a square-to-round basket with the opportunities of learning a range of traditional techniques, including plaiting, two- and three-strand twining, patterned bases and sides, and folded borders.

We will begin by exploring how to process and prepare raw cedar bark, transforming it into weaving materials of different widths and qualities. You will also learn how to use iron vinegar to naturally dye the bark, opening up opportunities for pattern, contrast, and design within your work.
